A group of Portum businessmen start their own airline, called Portum Air. They buy 1 Boeing 737 from Sardia and build 2 regional jets to operate out of BPR. The regional jets are a new type of passenger aircraft, known as the RJ-1. here is an image:


They have a crew of 4 and can carry up to 34 passengers, with a range of 3,705 km.

Captain James Jicuda swiftly moves through the SNC's Terminal A. There is only one terminal, but the name leaves room to expand. A long moving sidewalk stretches out in front of him. Wasting no ime, he pulls his luggage with him, then continues his near sprint walking pace along the moving sidewalk. As he turns a corner, there it is, splayed out before him. Large glass panel windows reveal the airport and the surrounding landscape. Waiting on the tarmac beneath him is his plane. Passenger's luggage is stowed, and then the boarding process begins. He himself boards the plane, then takes a seat in the cockpit. As the last passengers board, he revs up the turbines, but then settles them to idle as the plane gets taxied out to the runway.

His copilot, Nadir Londoki, contacts the control tower. "Fiji Delta-Alpha 2, requesting permission to take off." He got his reply moments later when the radio responded. "Fiji DA-2, permission granted."

Jicuda placed his hand on the throttle, and,pulling it forward, felt the tremendous power of the engines forcing the plane forward along the runway. As the plane surpassed take-off velocity - around 179 knots - he pulled up on the stick and the nose of the plane surged skywards.

Just under two hours later, the plane safely docked at SCA, and refueled.

The 737-300 was chosen because it is mostly a regional plane, small to mid range, and is cheaper to produce than other wide body commercial jets.

Sardia offers to sell 737 jets to other nations for a total price of 120 million chunks.

Aelia opens their private airport in Mycra to Sardian planes. Sardia is given an exclusive license for commercial flights in Aelia. They offer to open airports in other cities if Sardia will pay for half the cost.

PIA opens it's gates for Sardinian and Aelian aircraft to pass through, but the tiny airport only has 10 gates in 1 terminal. BPR also has 1 terminal, but has no gates, as passengers are led out a door and walk to the aircraft across the tarmac.

Portum Air's current and planned fleet:


International aircraft: 1 737 being built, 4 more are planned
Regional Jets: 2 RJ-1s, 8 more planned
cargo: 5 flying merchants transferred from the PAF (Portum Air Force)
Other: 5 Ospreys, 2 passenger and 3 cargo. With 5 more (3 passenger and 2 cargo) planned.

The Ospreys are operated only out of CHR, or Chapel Hill regional airport, which is in Chapel Hill, a town of 3,410 people 100 kilometers north of Blue Port, and they fly to PIA. CHR can only operate VTOL aircraft as it has no runway to speak of, just 10 large helicopter landing pads.

Production is now switching to the 737-800 model. This is beneficial because it has larger, more efficient wings that generate more lift. Due to this, it can take off on far shorter runways. In addition, the plane will be equipped with simpler on-board computers, allowing for better communication between the pilot and the plane. Cost: 125 million chunks.

Portum Air buys four 737-800 planes, and the airline has begun to get government funding to operate.

The Dotaarians move into the land settled in the Treaty, and 32 more planes are built over the course of the year, with 2 more destroyers and an aircraft carrier, making a fast assault fleet. Seeing the Sardians creating a monopoly on international travel, private companies in Dotaria have put their resources together to create an airport and planes, but due to most of the resources flowing through the colony going to military build up, only 9 airliners have been built with the airport. There is a job for everyone in the colony, and production is in full swing. The borders of the colony have been set up, but most of the land is unoccupied due to the needed manpower in Cape Vardas and Faanal Cove.

Portum Air asks the Dotaarians if they can begin flights to Dotaar's airport, and they open up PIA and BPR to Dotaar passenger jets.

Within a day of contact, the Dotaarian Government permits Portum to fly commercial jets, and they put a trade proposition on the table. Since Dotaar has an abundance of natural resources, they offer to trade these resources for food and money.

This is how Marc proposes the fallen empire is divided.

Quarkian Leader, Commissar Joseph, has seen the recent advances in air travel and began to enlarge the airports and began adding more terminals to Quark City's airport. Also, the ospreys are continuing to be used for interregional travel.

Governor Winston agrees to the trade agreement, as Portum has a large abundance of farms due to it being mostly grassland.

Quark accept the offer, telling them they'll have to wait for the initial testing period and construction to finish. Saying it should be a few months.

In a session of Parliament, many senators are wishing to enter into a mutual protection pact with Portum, as the combined military might of the two colonies would safeguard them both from attacks by any hostile nation willing to attack them. Both colonies possess strategic resources and well trained soldiers.

In other news, Lord Yohn has married a woman named Heleena, and a baby is expected in a couple of years.

Governor Winston agrees to the mutual protection pact, and sends diplomats to Dotaar to create an embassy.

Governor Grant agrees to the land settlement and requests all Countries national airport system to fly into the newly built airport. The Kosmos national airline is officially "Kosmosian Air!" 524 737-800 planes have been built with a plan of at lest 24 more.
