//NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:
I am creating a new thread, where we will post both our military stats, AND population stats. Not only do i need to know HOW MUCH everyone has, I need to know WHERE it is. An army on a different continent cant contribute to warfare. This will stop people from aimlessly supplying armies and fleets. If it isnt in your info, you dont have it.//

Re: Colony RP 2.0 [INVITE ONLY]
With a brand new frontier of open land exposed to the Aelians, the new 18,000 citizens get busy colonizing new lands. Several of them organize large groups to establish towns in new locations. Seeing that air industry is now the trend, instead of creating their own airline, Aelia taxes flights from other airlines, and rakes in the benefits. AA guns have increased in Fort Cryton an Fort Moor, and more forts are planned. If Aelia cant be the best Aerial offense, they will be the best defense.

Topsail Empire wrote:Portum Air buys four 737-800 planes, and the airline has begun to get government funding to operate.
AirFiji is Sardia's national airline, funded primarily by the government. It is provided through the expenditure of tax chunks as a transportation system between the two major towns in Sardia: Sardia City and Port City. (//yes, towns//).
Creating the first 737-300s took nearly 4 years of design work, and an additional two years to construct. The reason for the length of time on these first few is that the population of Sardia hovers around 17,620 citizens, about half of which are farmers or other hand workers. (//soldiers do not get added to pop//). New laboratories had to be created to convert imported oil into jet fuel. The general design was known by the engineers, but the specifics had to be remodeled. In terms of construction, the first jet took the longest because the workers were working on something technical. They needed to be trained first. While materials were in surplus, new materials had to be created or found. The on-board computers had to be programmed. The second and third jet to be produced took much shorter, due to the completed design and worker experience.
The first 737-800 jets were also greatly shortened in production time. The design of the old 300 models merely had to be altered, and only a few new calculations were made. The old software was used as a base for the newer updated version. Construction time has also been shortened, but the first jet is still in the early phases of construction.
AirFiji has meanwhile split, where a group of the engine workers quit and created their own (private) company, called PulsAir, which now designs and manufactures the engines used in AirFiji's jets. This will help take some of the workload off of the company, and let them focus more on the design of planes than the safety of engines. PulsAir's manufacturing techniques have lowered the cost of each engine, putting them at around 28 million chunks each. They are sold to AirFiji for 30 million chunks.
AirFiji began with a slow start, the government funding providing not many returns. The -300 jets have the capacity for 150 passengers, and these were rarely filled completely. The business was about to go under when foreign interests saved it, notably the support from Portum. Other airports around the globe have also supported AirFiji by providing popular spots for tourists, as well as becoming a world-class government transporter and business travelling airline.
When the first 120 million chunks came in, the business once more began to boom. Now, they can hardly keep up. Because another four have been ordered by Portum, and the chunks (all 500 million of them) paid in advance, the company has to hurry to produce them all in time. Estimated manufacture time is two years. This might change, however, because PulsAir has become involved in all things planes, all the way up through design and manufacture, so they might take part in the planes' production, and take a part of the profit.
Pulsar is currently designing a new model, for much smaller range. It is a mini-plane, one for small town airports, and for aviation fanatics and hobby pilots alike. The plane will have an interesting new feature: a parachute that automatically opens if the engine cuts out, effectively saving small planes in case disaster strikes.
^PulsAir will sell them for a total cost of 100,000 chunks.
Helicopters are also in the process of being designed.
Re: Colony RP 2.0 [INVITE ONLY]
Portum puts the RJ-1 onto the market, for a price of 35 million chunks each. With the ability to carry up to 34 passengers over 3,700 kilometers it is the perfect short-range jet and can land in small airports, like the one on Blue Port.

Re: Colony RP 2.0 [INVITE ONLY]
AirFiji realizes that it needs diversity in its fleet to keep control of the Sardian market. 35 million seems reasonable, but wonders how the plane, especially the engines were designed and produced so quickly. AirFiji offers to purchase five RJ-1s (//Fairchild Dornier 328JETs//) for a total price of 175 million chunks.Topsail Empire wrote:Portum puts the RJ-1 onto the market, for a price of 35 million chunks each. Portum Air accepts the offer, and replies to their engine worries "We have been working on a reliable jet engine for 5 years here in Portum. That has been our colony's secret project for a long time. Don't worry, out of 100 flights so far the engines are 100% reliable."Admin wrote:

With current business highs, AirFiji CEO Brandon Marke announces that the company has sealed a deal with the Sardian government. It is now a private company, though still remains under government sponsorship and support.
"AirFiji intends to expand its business, and through that, expand its markets. We plan on starting international flights in under a year, and we look forward to starting foreign offices."
Then, directing his speech to Portum Air, he replies "Excellent. How will the jets be delivered, and when?"

CEO of Portum Air Jack Kay replies, "They will be delivered in six months, and will be flown to SNA through PIA, to Dotaar, to Quark, to SNA"

A new, international-range aircraft has been developed in Portum, the IJ-1 (International Jet One):
It can carry up to 360 passengers up to 26,700 Km
