We maintain that the Chunk is the most suitable for the world currency, as it is stable, neutral, and has the highest exchange rate of the entire region."

Everyone will be receiving 4 million beginning Chunks. The Sardian people are more than willing to fully distribute the currency to initiate world trade without the difficulty of various exchange rates. We have already compromised as we are willing to change its name, and we rose the starting distributed quantity by a multiple of two.

"What is this? I WANT A GLASS NOT A PITCHER!" Klaus splashes the water into the waiter.

\\I am a Finance major, so I will offer my input. Granted, I don't know everything yet, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I don't see whats wrong with Chunk. Its a good name to me. As for backing the economy with metals, that is plausible right now, but as the population expands, finding enough of a valuable mineral to back that currency may be hard. Also, the value of the currency would fluctuate with that mineral. As for not backing the currency with money, that is also plausible, but it would tie directly into, how most of you already pointed out, the nations economy is doing. For the most part. More or less it depends on how much of that currency is in the economy, which, in the U.S.A, is controlled by the Federal Government, and the Federal Reserve. The Fed can create money, which it can then loan out to banks, who give the money out to people through loans, and this increases the inflation rate, which decreases the value of the currency, but boosts the economy. The Fed can then take these loans back (or bonds sometimes) which takes money out of the economy, which decreases the amount of money in the economy, boosting the value of the currency, but oftentimes slows or reverses growth in the economy. Also, the loans that you get from banks are set by the discount rate set by the Federal Reserve, which can decrease inflation if set high, but will slow down the economy. The Federal Government can slow down inflation through tax. All tax money is taken out of the economy, and therefore decreases inflation. And Fiji, seeing as how East Ibsenia's economy is more spread out and established, it is larger and more powerful than yours, but it is subject to the state of others economies for its own well-being, while yours is more centralized, and does not fluctuate with the state of the world's economy.
