WWII RP, Take Two [INVITE REQUIRED]

August 31st, 1939, East Prussia, Germany. 7:00 pm

The sun was starting to set on the last day of peace that the world would know for many years. It was the day before the war that would cause over 50 million deaths would start, yet it felt like a normal summer evening. At 5:00 in the morning on September 1st, the silence was broken by German artillery fire. Dive bombers rained down destruction on the Polish troops, causing mass casualties. By September 3rd, Danzing and the Polish Corder had fell, along with many border towns. Nobody would have guessed that this invasion would start the largest war in Human history.

The Parliament of the United Kingdom contacted the German Embassy and asks them reasons for their attack, as they also mobilize forces (unbeknownst to the Germans) to protect their home island and to prepare for a war with Germany. They compromise with the Germans by asking them to finish their attack and to stop any other attacks they have planned. They do this with as much diplomatic politeness as possible.

Adolf Hitler responds, "The Polish attacked a radio station on the Polish-German border at 10:30 pm on August 31st. We have simply retaliated for their attack on us"

By September the 7th, a week after the invasion began, roughly 1/6 of Poland is under Nazi control.

The British accept the Nazi excuse, but they again tell the German people that any more attacks on foreigners will not be tolerated, and tell them that the attack on the Poles was too much retaliation for the attack that they inflicted.

On other notes, the British and the French have joined in an alliance, and the Kingdom sends weapons, troops, and supplies to the French territory. They deploy their troops across the France-Belgium border to support the Maginot line.

Risto Ryti, the President of Finland, viewed the Nazi attacks as aggressive and unwarranted, but they held little concern for a neutral nation like Finland. However, the sleeping giant to the south was a cause for concern.

A few days after Germany attacks Poland yugoslavacian forces enter Greece and begin to march toward the nations capital. Peace negotiations begin a few days later. By the end of the next week Athens is overrun and the government has signed the Yugoslav-Greek Union decreeing that Greece has been admitted to the Yugoslavian empire. Casualties: 2 fighters, a bomber, 653 infantry wounded and 278 dead

The British embassy in Yugoslavia also confronts the Yugoslavians like they did with the Germans. Fearing war, the Parliament has instituted conscription in the Kingdom, and draft 500,000 men for training over the course of a month.

The Yugoslavian Empire send Great Britian a telegram explaining that the government was corrupt and the Yugoslavian forces were helping the greek people overthrow the government and implicate a new government.

Seeing the Brits getting restless the Yugoslavian government builds fortifications in major cities

Warsaw is captured by German Forces by September 13th, and Poland begins to collapse. On the 15th, Poland officially surrenders to Germany.

Adolf Hitler visits Belgrade to talk with the Yugoslav leader. They form an alliance.

The Soviet Union is unsure of who's alliance to join. They decide to watch and decide later.
