Ibsenian Civil War

East Ibsenia is at war. Torn between the location of the capitol city, Vernia and Seaworth came to arms. Their allies jumped in, which resulted in the first Ibsenian Civil War. On other planets, colonists riot and lynch others. This war needs to come to close, and quickly. the Tri-Powers are matched against the Sister cities. Seaworth Semylin and Lorond stand against Carine and Vernia. Troops have already been mobilized and predicted meeting points have been determined.

Admiral Stark, looking down on Icis sighs. "This is wrong. Brother fighting brother, sister fighting sister, its all wrong."

Admiral Hayes nods his head in agreement.

Stark continues, "But we cant intervene. We are hardly keeping peace on our own ships. If we tried to take a side chaos would erupt. We just have to monitor it and try to keep it from getting too out of hand."

Semylin

The Panther lurched forward, with the Green Fleet in tow. Private Smith on board watched as for the first time in its history, the Green Fleet left Semylin. Semylin had mobilized its fleet for the first time in history, to come to the aid of Worthians. Smith was worried, but not near as much as the soldiers marching through the jungle, he supposed. Semylin had organized a jungle force to meet the Vernian army that was approaching the Edge, the thin stretch of land that connected Semylin to the continent.

Fort Brand

"Damn those arrogant Vernians!" Commander Roark shouted. He looked around out the window at the soldiers. The Immortals were meanwhile still in training. All the city-states had agreed that, in times of civil war, the Immortals would remain neutral.

Commander Roark looked out the window at the departing fleet, The Isle fleet. It had seen quite a bit of fighting, but Roark was nervous that is wouldnt hold against the Gold Fleet, the honorary fleet of Icis. Worst of all, if the Oceanic fleet took a side, that side would undoubtedly win the war.

Orbiting Icis- Longsword Honor
Admiral Stark discussed with the other two Admirals, "What shall we do if other nations attempt to intervene?"

Admiral Lyken responded stiffly, "Tell them to fuck off, thats what."

However, Admiral Hayes responded a little more tactfully, "Well, I guess we shouldnt stop them, but we should try to limit what they send. The last thing we need is billions of foreign soldiers landing on Icis."

Nodding in agreement, Admiral Stark acquiesced. "Very Well, we shall not prevent foreign intervention."

Vernia- Delegation Chambers

With an official state of war declared, the delegates of Seaworth, Lorond and Semylin attempt to walk out of the room, where they are stopped by Honor Guard soldiers. The Vernian delegate chuckles, "Haha, you think we are going to let you leave??? You are much too good of hostages for that!"

The other delegates blanch in disgust, and even the Carinian delegate seems alarmed.

Carinian Air Academy
Pilot Arzi Lengla climbed into his Eagle class fighter, and started the plane. Taking off the runway, he joined formation behind a Fox class bomber.
"Rock 1 to Rock 6, are you prepared to drop?"
"Rock 6 to Rock 1, Bombs away!"

The Fox class bomber dropped napalm bombs on the bunkers below, and thousands of Lorondic soldiers cried in pain. Lorond began to return fire, and Arli jumped in shock as Rock 6 dropped out of the sky. Calling to his wingman, "Stone 12 to Stone 13, we need to get out of here."
In reply, "Stone 13 to Sto-AGHHHH"
Arli watched in horror as Stone 13 fell out of the sky. Finally Stone 1 gave the command to pull back, and Arli flew back to the air base. Landing the fighter, he hopped out, and vomited all over the ground.

East of Vernia

The 2nd Worthian Army marched for Vernia by land. They had been dropped in by the Isle Fleet when the bill was first proposed. Originally they were going to march across the bridge and take the city by storm, but they had been delayed by a Waste Storm, and had to halt their advance. The bridges were now watched, and the army would have to march around the Ibsen River.

The Delta Fleet
Admiral Maki watched as the Green Fleet and the Isle fleet approached. Good, we are all together. In total, their fleet consisted of 87 larger ships, counting battleships, cruisers, and carriers. The opposing Gold Fleet and Twin fleet had 85 ships, the majority coming from Carine, who had somehow amassed over 48 cruisers. Maki was worried. Moving into formation, The carriers formed a triangle, with other ships dispersed around them in a pattern. The Brand took point, and began forward, towards Vernia. Maki hoped they encountered the Twin Fleet, and didnt overtake them. The last thing they needed was to be pinned in the Ibsenian Bay

Carinian-Lorondic Engagement

Lorond had allied with Seaworth when the bill was first introduced, fearing war may come from the totalitarian Vernians. Thus, they had established a defensive line to protect against any Carinian planes that may attempt to bomb the city. AA weaponry lined the defenses, to shoot down any overhead fighters. In response, Carine had mobilized their troops to attack the bunker. At this moment, the Carinian soldiers arrived.

Staff Sergeant Johnson was sitting at lunch. "Aye, We will hand those Carinians their own asses when they arrive. We are too well prepared to be caught off guard."

A private was nodding in consent, "Yeah, I mean, have you seen how many guns we have, there is no way they can get past us."

Just as he said that, a soldier ran in, "Sergeant Johnson! The Carinians are here!"

Johnson shouted to his men to ready up, and jogged outside to get a closer look at the army. What he saw shocked him. In this day and age, wars were usually fought over a large amount of territory with a few soldiers. It seemed Carine had forgotten that. Over a million soldiers marched in time on the defenses. What the fuck. They will get slaughtered by the artillery ,he thought. Yet, as he thought that, hundreds of artillery he hadnt noticed until now fired on the defenses. The defenses had been nicknamed Titanium, but it seemed to be crumple under the fire of all those guns.

Johnson ran back into the bunker as a roar sounded overhead, and bombers ravaged the Titanium line. Johnson ordered his men to fire their heavy weaponry, and watched as the hundreds of other bunkers followed suit. The AA guns began firing, and artillery fired back on the Carinians. When the first bullets hit the soldiers, something happened. A ripple occured, and then the entire line faded. The army had been an illusion projected by a shield Johnson watched as the phantom soldiers were replaced by humvees, that raced across the empty distance to the Titanium line. Clearly their plan is to take the bunkers up close Johnson ordered his men to fire on the Humvees tires, to stop them. Unfortunately, not every bunker contained an as brilliant leader. Several humvees reached other bunkers, and the fight over the Titanium Line began.

Seaworth

The morning after the Titanium Line was engaged, Seaworth was in a restless sleep. Many people stirred as the lamented over what they assumed was the fall of Lorond. Eldrich Ricardo, a 67 year old book shop owner was making his coffee and lamenting to a regular about the situation, when he heard a dull roar.

"I mean, how can they continue to hold the Titanium line when some of the bunkers have already been breached. Its just hopeless to- oh, Im sorry, my hearing must be acting up again, I am hearing a dull roar"

The regular, a middle aged woman, denied his suspicions, "No, I hear it too."

Suddenly, Alarms went off across the city, and screams were heard from down the street. Eldrich turned pale as he realized what the roar was.

"Bombers! Martha come with me! We need to find shelter!" Eldrich looked back at Martha, but she was nowhere to be seen. Eldrich hobbled out into the street, trying to chase after Martha. "Martha! No! Come back!" A little girl ran by Eldrich, crying and screaming for her mother. Eldrich heard the roar overhead, and looked up to see a black object falling from the sky. Panicked, Eldrich forgot Martha and pursued the little girl he saw running. Diving for the girl, he grabbed her, but popped his hip out of place. He curled on top of the girl, and looking up, the last thing he saw was the bomb landing up the street and swirling up in a dancing flame.

"Milord, Ibsenia is now at war."

Hunter looked up from the military reports on his tablet, "They finally exploded?"

"Yes sir, Icis is at war and their interstellar navy is staying out of it, as they're trying to keep the peace within their territory."

Hunter looked down and pulled up news reals from Icis. Sure enough, they were trying to kill each other. "Does no one in this galaxy have any sense of loyalty to their race?" Hunter said, then sighed. "Notify Parliament that I'll be taking the 1st Legion to provide a police force to help out Stark. I know that woman doesn't want any part of this, so we'll help her and get more information on the conflict."

//Fast forwarding.//
Hunter was outside of the Icis System when he was hailed by a familiar voice, "This is Admiral Liza Stark. You are entering East Ibsenian space, state your intentions."

Hunter smiled, "Liza, you mean to tell me you don't recognize my ship?"

"It's good to hear your voice, Ryse Hunter," she said, and Hunter could notice a smile in her voice, "What are you doing here."

"I'm looking to help you, and only you, and to also get some information on what's happening on the surface of Icis."

Gold Fleet
"Admiral Tyell, they are here."

Admiral Tyell watched calmly as the Tri-fleet approached. The Isle Fleet was still a few hours off, and unless the Oceanic Fleet suddenly appeared over the horizon, Vernia was fucked. So, Tyell did the one thing he could do, and hoped the Tri-Fleet fell for it.

"Head Directly east."

"Admiral, that will leave Vernia completely open to the sea!"

"I know. Do it."

Delta Fleet
The other Admirals and Maki discussed frantically what to do, as the Gold Fleet headed directly east.

the Worthian Admiral, Fane, demanded they advance on Vernia. Admiral Selys of the Green Fleet was in agreement, but Maki fiercely disagreed, concerned for the wellbeing of Lorond.

"I absolutely will not head into Vernia! We must pursue them! If they reach the river Lorond WILL fall. We must head east, or Lorond will step out of this alliance!"

The other two admirals begrudgingly agreed, and the Fleets followed the Gold fleet east.

Dotarian-Ibsenia meeting

Liza Stark sat down with Hunter.
Hunter commented on Lizas gray hairs, "Liza, excuse my manners, but you are growing old. It is sad to see. I often forget that Dotarians age much more slowly than Ibsenians do."
Liza laughed, "Ha! Gray hairs wont be killing me anytime soon! I can tell you that! But back to business. Let me fill you in. Seaworth proposed a bill in the delegacy a few months ago. Semylin and Lorond were quick to back it, but Vernia was firmly against it, and of course, Carine followed Vernia. See, the bill proposed that the capitol be moved to Seaworth, as it is more central in the world, and has the ability to serve as a military center.
Now, for a bit of history. East Ibsenia was formed when five city states banded together to face the harsh world. These city states were, in order of joining, Vernia, Carine, Semylin, Seaworth, and Lorond. Each of these city-states highly valued their own identity though. So, they decided that rather than merging into one country, they would form a perpetual union. However, that has come to be a problem, because Vernians are firmly against the capitol being moved from their own city.
So, it has resulted in a civil war, that none of our international forces can get involved in without causing mass chaos. All of our heavy hitters, The Immortals, the Garde, the UF Oceanic Fleet, the Space marines. They could all end the war almost immediately, but if any one of them takes a side, their ranks will be divided by nationality. So, we must sit here and watch. Now, what do you propose we do Hunter?"

"Since your Colonial Worlds are in turmoil, we need to keep the peace there. Leave the surface of Icis to tear itself apart. That war down there isn't your war, but the minute there are mass killings of innocents, we need to hit the bastards hard. I know these are your countrymen, and I won't force you to pick sides, but out here in space you're in charge now. YOU need to do what is best for Ibsenia, since the people down there are too ignorant to see the big picture," Hunter said, then eyed Liza.

The two had fought together in the Galactic Civil War, and the woman was no stranger to taking up Ibsenian leadership, but Hunter could tell she didn't want it. She was content with her fleet, and that was all she wanted to control. It didn't surprise Hunter that she immediately thought of her men first, and the fact of her using "political" reasons not to get involved was true, but not her true reason for not getting involved. She didn't want her men dying needlessly, much less killing each other.

"So, what do you say?"

Reluctantly, Liza agrees. "I will send Admiral Lyken to a Aetas, and Admiral Hayes to Elbaror. I will give them permission to land and keep the peace. You may head with them, or stay here in orbit of Icis, I dont care. But Hunter, listen....I think Carine just bombed Seaworth. We are getting word of devastation in the streets. Thousand of civilians dead. Its horrible and unneccesary. What should we do?"

"Granted, it was a bombing of a populated area, but we Dotarians also attack civilian centers to destroy an enemy's economic capabilities. In our grounds, its an action taken in war, and if we were to attack, we would be labeled hypocrites. I cannot intervene," Hunter said, "Just out of curiosity, who do you support?"

Stark turned off the recording device. "Off the record, I am rooting for Seaworth. They passed legal legislation, and Vernia is rejecting it. Its the sensible side of the war."

Hunter nodded, "I understand. However, I understand where the Vernian's are coming from, as tradition is deeply rooted in my society due to our long lives. We need to work to stop the fighting, you and I. You up for it?"

"What would you suggest? You may be able to interfere, but the EISF is paralyzed."

MEANWHILE AT THE GROTHBORIAN EMBASSY
"What the fuck is going on?!" Cried Admiral Colodnial seeing tons of men and women crying pour in the embassy.
"Sir, we received reports of outbreaks of war in the area." Replied Colonel Wald
"God damnit. Get Klaus on the line NOW." Yelled Colodnial
Stadt der Götter
Klaus is enjoying his evening back massage. When his phone rings.
"What is it Admiral?" Asked Klaus highly annoyed
"Sir, war has broken out on Ibsenia. Divided East and West, I request 5,000 troops to protect the area and keep the peace." Said Colodnial
Klaus thought....
"Hmmm, I will think. For now I will call the Eastern Government of Ibsenia. Thank you Admiral." Klaus hung up and continued to enjoy his massage.
